LAWR showcases its projects, faculty, and students at Picnic Day surrounded by the beautiful architecture of its home in the Plant and Environmental Sciences Building. Atmospheric Sciences hosts their activities in Hoagland Hall.
Soil scientists encourage kids of all ages to “paint” with the varying textures and colors of the earth’s “dirt,” and LAWR students and faculty hand out small bags of rich, organic compost to passers-by.
And hydrologists tell stories of water’s power and influence through demonstrations, live experiment and video presentations.
Picnic Day gives the community a chance to celebrate its amazing resources – Land, Air and Water!
