UNIT 18 LECTURER POSITION

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Department of Land, Air and Water Resources offers a temporary Lecturer position in – Groundwater Hydrology, HYD 144 (4 units)
Fundamentals of groundwater flow and contaminant hydrology. Occurrence, distribution, and movement of groundwater. Well-flow systems. Aquifer tests. Well construction operation and maintenance. Groundwater exploration and quality assessment. Agricultural threats to groundwater quality: fertilizers, pesticides, and salts (upper division).
APPOINTMENT DATE: Service periods are:
Fall Quarter 2025: September 22, 2025 – December 12, 2025
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach one undergraduate/upper division course in Groundwater Hydrology, HYD 144 (4 units).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Appropriate professional degree, e.g. doctorate or master’s degree (or 30 units of graduate
coursework); demonstrated teaching ability; a developing record of scholarly or professional achievement in an
area of expertise related to the subject area of the course.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Temporary lecturers are selected to fill specialized positions that require professional as well as academic expertise.
SALARY:
A reasonable estimate for this position is $68,247-$72,404. The % of annual salary will be determined by the Instructional Workload Credits worksheet based on enrollment, lecture and discussion hours.
