Applications are being accepted now through Monday, 10/27/2025
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is California's lead agency in the fight against air pollution & climate change.
The Short-Lived Climate Pollutant (SLCP) Policy section is seeking a highly motivated candidate with data management skills to support the implementation of regulations that reduce methane emissions. This team develops strategies to reduce emissions in agriculture and waste management—the two sectors that make up 75% of California’s methane emissions.
Reducing methane has been identified as the most promising strategy to slow the rate of temperature rise within this decade. In this role, you would support the work of the team to align data systems with regulatory needs to oversee compliance with reporting requirements, analyze new research and technologies, promote methane reduction strategies, track progress, and apply creativity and scientific logic to help achieve California's ambitious climate goals and address environmental injustices. You would also play a key role in modernizing how we collect, validate, organize, analyze, and communicate environmental data—helping to ensure our programs are effective and transparent. This is an opportunity to combine your technical and analytical skills with meaningful action that will protect public health, improve air quality, and reduce the pace of climate change.
