Favorite thing about LAWR: I continue to be impressed with the commitment to the UC Davis Principles of Community from the people I work with.  I have much respect for the teaching and research that is being done within the department.

Favorite thing about UC Davis: Being part of the prestigious UC system.  I enjoy being a part of the State’s education system.  To be part of an institution that furthers education for so many people is very rewarding to me.  While neither of my parents excelled in academics, they both instilled the value of an education.  I graduate high schol in 3 years and began college right away, however, I left college to marry and start a family after just one year.  At 29 years old, I returned to college and earned my AA and BS degree (while working fulltime and raising my three children).  When I was 45 years old, I returned to college again, this time to earn my MBA (also while working fulltime). A day after graduation, I applied to LAWR and was the successful candidate.  I took a very long, difficult path to complete my education, being even a little part of the process for others to earn their college degrees is very rewarding to me.  Working in academia is what I want to do for the rest of my career.

Favorite thing to do outside of work: Anything that allows me to spend time with my family. Each year our family rents a condo on the edge of South Lake Tahoe and spends a few days playing in the snow. I especially enjoy playing house with our granddaughter.
